Acknowledging the MIC
All users of the facility should cite the CRL MIC in the Acknowledgement section of your paper. You can site us using our RRID:SCR_017852! The NIH requires acknowledgement of shared instrumentation grants in published papers. Your acknowledgement will help ensure continued support of this facility, as well as help ensure future shared instrumentation grants for all of UC Berkeley!
When staff has helped beyond basic training and provided valuable advice, protocols, input, etc., it is appropriate to discuss authorship.
Example text: “Confocal and 2-photon imaging experiments were conducted at the CRL Molecular Imaging Center, RRID:SCR_017852, supported by xxx, xxxx, xxx [fill in the relevant grant agency & numbers for the instruments you used – see table below]. We would like to thank Holly Aaron and Feather Ives for their microscopy advice and support.”
