Two Successful Events Kick Off 2016 at the MIC
February 23rd, 2016
2016 is off to a fantastic start at the Molecular Imaging Center! The MIC and the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute, together with UC Berkeley faculty, post-docs, graduate students, and corporate partners, taught the inaugural 4D Advanced Microscopy in Brain Circuits course, January 10-16, 2016. According to course’s 16 students, who came from all over the country (5 were from UCB), it was an intense but very worthwhile experience. A fantastic write-up with photos can be found on the HWNI website.
A short 4 weeks later, February 10 – 12, the MIC hosted the 13th Annual Advanced Imaging Methods Workshop, at the beautiful and historic Berkeley City Club on Durant Avenue. Attended by 200 researchers, the conference featured internationally-renowned speakers in biology, chemistry and optics, as well as instrument and technology demonstrations, a poster session, and evening receptions. Attendees enjoyed the breadth of topics covered by the talks and the social interactions during the coffee breaks and evening receptions. Thanks to all of the sponsors, especially Becker-Hickl and Boston Electronics, who made the event possible.
